If you help people both see and read your Magnetsign easily, they may become your customers. Here are some guidelines:

  • Use an appropriate message that has the right promotion and layout that will produce results.
  • In as fewer words as possible, preferable 4 to 6, clearly communicate what you are selling or promoting.
  • A large graphic or headline about your promotion will add impact, clarity and grab attention.
  • Using an attractive and unique sign layout that will stand out and catch people's eye.
  • Use of humour or a catchy phrase that will last longer in people's minds and a prompting message for a call to action.
  • Avoiding clutter. Thirty to forty percent of the sign's face area should be black space for optimal readability.
  • Don't try to sell your customers with the sign. Save that type of information until they are inside your location.
  • Determine the best sign type, size and placement. Take a look at what the sign looks like from the street and sidewalk.
  • Present the image you want to project that will attract customers and entice them to stop, shop and buy.
  • Change your message about once a month or so, as a different layout will catch the attention of passers by.
  • Don't forget to ask or have your staff ask people how they heard about the promotion to ensure the message is working.
